China earthquake kills 600
A severe earthquake in Western China’s Qinghai province few days back has killed at least 600 people and injured over 2000 people. The authorities are unable to provide all the rescue support required to the affected people, only because the place does not have proper access.
The altitude is very high and the climate is near freezing levels. So there are hundreds of people who have lost parts of their body like hands, legs, fingers etc., but are stranded helpless on the roadside. With after shocks hitting the region, people are forcibly staying away in freezing cold outside on open space areas.
The Chinese authorities are putting in special efforts to send medical and rescue team to the area on priority basis.
