France increases working hours
France is finally catching up with the West in terms of working hours for its workforce. French President Sarkozy is pushing to keep the value of work, by reducing the leisure time . In 2007 French worked for an average 1561 hours versus 1794 hours put in by fellow Americans. The gap is likely to be brought down further in coming years , aimed at improving the competitiveness of the French economy.
