Though mobile usage is surging across the globe, internet usage through mobile has been very poor due to poor speed issues. In order to increase the usage of internet through mobile, in the last few months , Google has been offering faster improved internet access on selected phone models such as Iphone from apple, blackberry and nokia devices for multimedia picture. This seems to be paying off. Google says that the initial indications are that there is a fantastic surge in the usage of internet through mobile phones. This will be good news for Google and also for Microsoft.

Yahoo has said that the Microsoft offer for taking it over , is grossly undervalued. It says Yahoo will be generating more that double the current cash flow from 1.9 billion to 3.7 billion in the next three years, and hence the Microsoft bid is too low. It has made a detailed presentation on its strategies for the next three years in a filing with SEC as one of the attempts to thwart MS takeover efforts. Only time will tell as to whether and when will this takeover happen.

China’s central bank has been forced to increase the interest rates further since their inflation number has reached a record high of 8.7% in February 2008 which is a 11 year high. This  has been mainly due to the high food prices, which is again due to the increasing disposable income in the hands of more and more chinese people across their country. This has been due to the excellent economic growth recorded by China in the last five years.
