  • Google profits for 2007 below expectation

Google profits for the fourth quarter grew by 17 percent on a 52 percent increase in topline. These were below the market expectations and hence the share prices were down by over 5% on result announcement. Google has attributed the lower profits to paid ad clicks and also due to its inability to monetize social networking advertisement inventories.
